100% of proceeds from the sale of this artwork will be donated to further the important work of the Garvan Institute for Medical Research in support of "Let's Find A Cure", an initiative of Inner West locals Marina and Santina Rizzo who tragically lost their beautiful sister Grace to breast cancer in 2018.
Valued at $900, this artwork would make a stunning addition to any living space or a poignant gift in memory of someone special. 1 in 3 Australians will unfortunately be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime and too many of us have either a personal connection or know of someone who has been affected by cancer. The whole family at Pure Apotheca are honoured and proud to support this cause and further research needed to find a cure.
About the Artist:
Leree is the fourth generation of her family to live in the Northern Rivers. Leree draws on her family’s history of dairy farming in the region by incorporating old Norco bottles in her paintings.
She is inspired by the lush tropical rainforests of the Northern Rivers and the native bushland and garden that surrounds her studio. Her botanical paintings depict flowers, foliage and fruit collected from the garden, with the colours and tones reflecting the changing seasons and the flowers that are blooming.
She works to capture and magnify the beauty and vibrancy of flowers, highlighting the subtle differences in foliage. Using a palette knife and oil paint she has the freedom to work alla-prima. By applying the paint thickly it allows her to denote expression and gesture giving movement and life into her canvas.
