Since 1999 American artist and sculptor, Susan Lordi has added a spiritual dimension to life’s important occasions with her collection of Willow Tree figurines.
The expression of each one is revealed through gestures but with an absence of facial features for a more meaningful interpretation of emotions. Lordi sketches in clay as she forms each piece and finds the inspiration as she starts fashioning each one.

The full-scale figurine Dance for Life, is affixed to a hand painted base which rotates while playing Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite: March. Musical and rotating elements are activated by a turn key under the base.
